Friedhelm Julius Beucher (born July 21, 1946 in Bergneustadt ) is a German politician and was a member of the German Bundestag from December 20, 1990 until the end of the 14th electoral term in 2002 . From 1998 to 2002 he was chairman of the sports committee .

Life

After studying and legal clerkship , Beucher became a teacher at the Hackenberg Community Primary School, later its principal. After many years of involvement in local politics, he ran for the Bundestag, in which he entered in 1990 and 1994 via the state list of the SPD in North Rhine-Westphalia , in 1998 he won the direct mandate in the constituency of Oberbergischer Kreis . He is honorary chairman of the Oberbergische SPD. After leaving the Bundestag, Beucher returned to school as the principal of the Montanus School in Burscheid . On July 31, 2009, he retired.

activities

Beucher is the co-founder and honorary chairman of a project against unemployment, the "Association for Social Services", which now works at three locations in the Oberbergischer Kreis . Since 1983, this association has employed over 2,800 people in job creation, qualification, care and disability measures. In June 2009 Friedhelm Julius Beucher was elected as the new President of the German Disabled Sports Association (DBS) eV . Before that he was chairman of the board of trustees of DBS.

Awards

  • In July 2006 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for his political and social commitment .
  • In October 2017 he received the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st class, for his services to disabled sports.
