Friedhelm Ruf (born June 20, 1955 in Grevenbroich - Hemmerden ) is a German journalist and author .

Life

Ruf attended schools in Grevenbroich, Willich-Schiefbahn and Neuss from 1962 to 1977 . From 1977 to 1983 he worked in sales for the Neuss-Grevenbroicher newspaper . There he volunteered in the editorial team from 1983 to 1985. From 1985 he worked as an editor , from 1997 as deputy editor-in-chief.

In 1993 he was one of the first to graduate from university journalism training at the Free University of Berlin . Ruf began this course in 1988. He graduated with the Licentiatum rerum publicarum.

From 1993 to 2002 Ruf held a teaching position at the Institute for Media Studies at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf .

He remained an editorial member of the Neuss-Grevenbroicher Zeitung ( Rheinische Post ) until 2005 , most recently as deputy editor-in-chief for nine years. Friedhelm Ruf has been an author specializing in biography since 2006 . He lives and works in Wevelinghoven .

In 2018 Ruf became editor for the Rheinische Post in Mönchengladbach and works there for reporting from the cities of Mönchengladbach and Korschenbroich.
