Friedrich Lisch Monument Prize

Friedrich Lisch

The Friedrich Lisch Monument Prize has been awarded annually since 2007 by the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It is named after the Mecklenburg archivist, monument conservator and archaeologist Georg Christian Friedrich Lisch (1801-1883).

criteria

Associations, associations, institutions, state and municipal administrations and individuals are entitled to make proposals. Self-applications are not permitted. The evaluation of the incoming proposals is carried out by a specialist commission, consisting of two representatives each from the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture and the State Office for Culture and Monument Preservation as well as one representative each from the lower monument protection authorities, the churches and the press. The annual deadline for submitting proposals is May 31st, and they will be awarded during the nationwide opening event of the Open Monument Day at the beginning of September.

The award is given for one or more of the following criteria:

  • Exemplary services for the rescue and preservation of architectural and art monuments or of archaeological monuments in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania
  • the convincing dissemination of the monument preservation idea to the public
  • excellent scientific achievements in the theory and practice of monument preservation
  • the use of traditional or innovative craft techniques
  • Many years of outstanding work in the field of building and art monument preservation or archaeological monument preservation

The Friedrich Lisch Monument Prize is currently endowed with € 4,000.

The monument award is not to be confused with the Friedrich Lisch Medal, which was awarded in 1990 by the Mecklenburg Foundation to a number of distinguished scientists such as Wilfried Blöke and Joachim Schulz-Naumann.

  • 2018 Symbolic to all ground conservationists in the country. De Ackerlöper , a group of voluntary conservationists on Rügen , who found the Schaprode hoard , rejected the award.
  • 2019 Jan Träbing and Sönke Borgwardt - for their exemplary and committed rescue of the Ganzow manor near Gadebusch

A few times, honorable mentions were also given , which have been endowed with € 300 since 2013, for example in 2008 to the Friends of Groß Raden and Sabine Bock, and in 2010 to the Friends of the Preservation of the Marsow Stone Church. eV, 2012 to Jan von Busch, Rostock, 2014 to Hans-Joachim Lautenschläger and the ZINNOBER Kulturkreis Zachow eV, 2015 to the bell expert Claus Peter, 2016 to the Peter-Weiss-Haus in Rostock and 2017 to the Friends of the Church of Kirch Piece .

Think! Price for children and teenagers

Think! The prize for children and young people has been awarded since 2009 for exemplary initiatives by children and young people to rescue and preserve land, architectural and art monuments in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania or for the convincing dissemination of the monument preservation idea to the public and for exemplary initiatives to convey understanding and recognition of the need to preserve the cultural heritage and the involvement of children and young people in the rescue and preservation of land, architectural and art monuments. Think! The prize for children and young people is endowed with € 700.
