Friedrich Aemmer

Friedrich "Fritz" Aemmer (born August 7, 1867 in Basel , † October 20, 1934 in Saint-Sulpice ) was a Swiss doctor and politician ( FDP ).

The son of a machine industrialist studied medicine at the universities of Basel , Strasbourg and Munich . In 1893 he received his doctorate in Basel and then worked as a general practitioner. In 1909 he became a Basel city ​​physician (head of the health department).

From 1905 to 1911 Aemmer was a councilor in Basel . From 1911 to 1934 he was a Liberal Government of the Canton of Basel-Stadt and Head of the Department of Sanitation. Aemmer was President of the Swiss Sample Fair from 1920 to 1934 .

Aemmer was also President of the Swiss Conference of Sanitary Directors and board member of Kraftwerke Oberhasli .
