Friedrich August Wirth (politician)
Friedrich August Wirth (born June 19, 1765 in Leipzig , † February 13, 1847 in Chemnitz ) was Mayor of Chemnitz.
Life
Wirth's father was the owner of a gold and silver shop and died when Wirth was six years old. He was supposed to continue his father's business but began studying. After passing the exam, he was enrolled at the University of Leipzig at the age of 19 .
After completing his studies and exams, he stayed in Leipzig and worked for his stepfather, the lawyer and court director Schulze. During a visit to Schwarzenberg he met the pastor's daughter Christiane Eleonore Schubert. He left Leipzig and settled in Glauchau as a lawyer in 1794 . In October 1795, however, he left Glauchau to marry his bride Christiane and also to settle in Hohenstein as a lawyer. He stayed here until 1800 and then, at the instigation of his friends, moved to Chemnitz , where after a year he was employed as a senator, soon became a city judge and then became mayor. In 1831 he resigned from office for health reasons. In 1842 he and his wife died five years later after a four-day sick bed.
