Friedrich Carl Glaser

Friedrich Carl Glaser (born April 20, 1843 in Neunkirchen / Saar , † August 10, 1910 in Berlin ) was the editor of the journal Annalen für Gewerbe und Bauwesen and co-founder of the Association of German Machine Engineers (today the German Machine Technology Society ).

Glaser attended the district trade school in Kaiserslautern and studied mining and metallurgy in Leoben. From 1861 to 1869 he was in the acceptance service at Chemin de Fer du Nord in Paris and distinguished himself in the field railway service in 1870/1871 through successful pioneering work. The Royal Commission Council and Patent Attorney founded the journal Annalen für Gewerbe und Bauwesen on January 1, 1877 . The magazine, called Glasers Annalen from 1922 onwards , since 1881 organ of the Association of German Machine Engineers and gained respect and importance, Glaser purposefully expanded for 33 years until his death. In 1890 he was given the title of Privy Commissioner .

Glaser is buried with his wife and five children in the Rothenberg cemetery in Marburg an der Lahn .
