Friedrich Carl Trapp

Friedrich Carl Walther Trapp (born January 28, 1930 in Wesel ; † April 9, 2020 there ) was a German building contractor.

Life

Friedrich Carl Trapp was born as the son of the Wesel construction company Ernst Trapp . After graduating from high school, he studied civil engineering at RWTH Aachen University . In 1951 he became active in the Corps Montania Aachen. He completed his studies as a Dipl.-Ing. from. In 1958 he was promoted to Dr.-Ing. From the Faculty of Construction at the Technical University of Braunschweig. PhD.

After completing his studies, Trapp joined the FC Trapp construction company founded by his great-grandfather Friedrich Carl Trapp in Wesel in 1872 . For many decades he and his younger brother Ernst Joachim Trapp were managing partners and later board members of the construction company that was active throughout Germany and in many foreign construction projects.

For more than three decades, Friedrich Carl Trapp has volunteered for the NRW construction industry. Since 1974 he has been a member of the working group in the Duisburg district of the construction industry association of North Rhine-Westphalia. From 1979 to 1983 he was on the board of the construction industry pension scheme. He has been a member of the board of the construction industry association since 1986. In 1987 he was elected chairman of the advisory board of the business institute of the construction industry. In 1990 he became vice president and chairman of the association's vocational training committee. It was through him that the apprenticeship day of the North Rhine-Westphalian construction industry was launched. In the same year he was elected Vice President of the construction industry interest group. From 1994 to 2000 he was President of the Construction Industry Association of North Rhine-Westphalia. Until 2020 he sat on the executive committee of the main association of the German construction industry as a representative of the construction industry association of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Trapp was a founding member of the Rotary Club Wesel-Dinslaken. In addition to numerous other honorary positions, he was the former chairman of the Corps Montania Aachen and presbyter of the Evangelical Church Community in Wesel.
