Friedrich Falk
Friedrich Falk (born July 8, 1840 in Berlin , † October 17, 1893 in Berlin) was a German forensic doctor.
Life
From 1857 he studied at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Berlin , the Universität Leipzig and the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg . Since 1859 he was a member of the Corps Guestphalia Leipzig and the Corps Nassovia Würzburg . In 1862 he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD . After obtaining his license to practice medicine, he settled in Berlin as a doctor. In 1869 he was admitted as a lecturer in forensic medicine and medical history . Appointed Physicus of the Teltow district in 1876 , he was appointed to an associate professorship in 1886 , which he held until the end of his life.
Falk combined his experimental talent with profound learning, especially in philology and linguistics . With great success he devoted himself to the history of medicine . In addition to his dissertation on the external use of iodine , he published studies on the skin nerves, blood gases, changes in blood color due to abnormally high temperatures (after death and in the case of carbon oxide poisoning), on death in water, on the behavior of ferments and infectious substances in the body, About detoxifying processes in the ground, about pulmonary edema , strangulation , tuberculosis , burns, chromium poisoning, about general symptoms of disturbed urine excretion, pneumonia after head injuries, railway injuries, medical surveillance of schools and much more.
