Friedrich Fink (musician)

Friedrich Fink (* 1841 in Dettingen am Albuch ; † December 19, 1896 in Stuttgart) was a German musician and composer.

Life

Friedrich Fink was the son of a schoolmaster and the younger brother of Christian Fink . He received his training in Stuttgart and then worked as a music teacher at the Nürtingen teachers' seminar. He was trained by Immanuel Faißt and Wilhelm Speidel at the Stuttgart Conservatory ; later he taught there himself. Edgar Stillman Kelley was one of his students in Stuttgart. In 1873 he became organist and music director of the Stuttgart synagogue at Hospitalstrasse 36. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the synagogue building, he played a fantasy on the Weigle organ in a festival service . Fink left behind several organ works.

Posthumously in 1909 he published a work entitled The electric organ action. A free word about modern organ building issues to master organ builders, organists and friends of organ playing at A. Auer.
