Friedrich Hollaus

Friedrich "Fritz" Hollaus (born October 21, 1929 in Vienna ; † February 1994 ) was an Austrian football player . The striker scored the first goal of an Austrian in the Spanish Primera División in the dress of Club Atlético de Madrid .

Friedrich Hollaus began his career with his hometown club SC Rapid Oberlaa . At the Oberlaaern, who at that time played in the highest Austrian league , he was used for the first time in the 1948/49 season in the combat team, but only experienced relegation to the second division a year later. Friedrich Hollaus, however, moved to the Wiener Sport-Club and remained in the first division. The striker had barely made his way into the first team when the sports club was relegated to the B-League . Fritz Hollaus secured the Dornbachers with 31 goals in the B-League season 1952/53 not only the immediate promotion, but also the title of top scorer himself. After another year in the A-League with the sports club, Friedrich Hollaus moved to the newly promoted FC Stadlau . He was able to hold a total of three seasons with the small club from Transdanubia in the A-League, in his best season 1955/56 the striker scored 19 goals in 25 games.

Friedrich Hollaus came under after the Stadlau relegation at the first division club Vienna AC , where he was poached from the Spanish Primera División after a convincing first half of the season by Club Atlético de Madrid . In his second game he was the first Austrian to celebrate a goal in the highest Spanish league against Real Saragossa after just seven minutes ; but also in the following three games he scored one goal each. Finally, he was able to achieve the greatest success of his club career by winning the Spanish runner-up in the 1957/58 season . From Madrid, Friedrich Hollaus went to Real Club Deportivo Mallorca , with whom he rose to the Primera División for the first time in the club's history in 1960. After the “Adventure Spain”, the trained striker returned to the WAC in the A-League in 1961, where he served as a regular in the defense of the athletes for five more years.

Friedrich Hollaus was buried on February 22, 1994 in the Inzersdorfer Friedhof (group 3, row 30, number 1).
