Friedrich Konrad (weightlifter)

Friedrich Konrad (born January 1, 1967 in Vöcklabruck ) is a former Austrian weightlifter . He grew up in Frankenmarkt and began competitive sports in 1987.

Career

Konrad was Austrian national champion in a series of Olympic duels from 1993 to 1998 (1993 +108 kg, 1994–1997 +108 kg, 1998 +105 kg). During this time Konrad also started at World and European Championships, where he was able to achieve a 10th place (1993 in Sofia EM) and a 13th place (1994 in Istanbul World Cup). There he also set the Austrian record in the Olympic duel (+108 kg).

After a serious car accident, which he survived thanks to his stature, all attempts to build on old achievements failed.
