Friedrich Kraft (journalist)

Friedrich Kraft (born April 27, 1944 in Uffenheim ) is a German journalist and university professor .

Life

After graduating from the Protestant Realgymnasium Uffenheim, Kraft studied Protestant theology as well as communication, theater and musicology.

In 1970 he became the cultural editor of the district newspaper Böblinger Bote . In 1973 he took up a position as vicar in Starnberg. After ordination as a pastor, he took leave of absence and worked as a freelancer for the Süddeutsche Zeitung, among others . In 1975 he became editor of the Südwestpresse in Ulm, from 1976 he headed the culture department of the Donaukurier in Ingolstadt . In 1980 he switched to the Bavarian Evangelical Sunday newspaper and was its editor-in-chief until 1993. In 1993 he returned to this position at Donaukurier, whose co-editor he became in 1999. In 2003 he left the Donaukurier.

In 1989 he became a lecturer for Christian journalism at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), where he teaches media studies, media law, language ethics and cultural criticism. In 1994 he was appointed honorary professor at FAU.
