Friedrich Matthias von Korff called Schmising zu Tatenhausen (born September 15, 1660 - † May 18, 1727 ) was official rescuer in the Principality of Münster .

Life

Origin and family

As the son of Kaspar Heinrich von Korff called Schmising (1616–1690, Droste zu Iburg) and his wife Anna Margaretha von Neuhof zu Horstmar, Friedrich Matthias came from the ancient Westphalian noble family von Korff . In 1685 he married Alexandrina Hedwig von Velen zu Velen (1665-1727) in Velen. The son Caspar Heinrich emerged from the marriage. On September 4, 1692 the family was raised to the status of imperial baron.

Career and work

Friedrich Matthias was sworn up to the knighthood of Münster on May 18, 1684 and was then first from 1685 to 1690 the official of Iburg . In 1685 he bought Korff's Burgmannshof from Drosten Christian Friedrich von Harling, which was owned by the family from the end of the 16th century - with interruptions - until 1714 and served the Drosten as the official residence.
