Caspar Heinrich Matthias von Korff called Schmising zu Tatenhausen (baptismal name: Caspar Heinrich Matthias Anton, born October 29, 1687 , † October 20, 1765 in Duderstadt ) was Landdrost in the Principality of Münster .

Life

Origin and family

Caspar Heinrich Matthias was born as the son of Friedrich Matthias von Korff called Schmising zu Tatenhausen and Alexandrina Hedwig von Velen zu Velen (1665–1727) and came from the ancient Westphalian noble family von Korff , who were raised to the imperial baron status on September 4, 1692 . He married Antonia Helena von Landsberg and Erwitte on January 23, 1712 in Münster. The sons Franz Otto (official coroner and chamberlain in Kurköln) and Clemens August (official coroner and president of the court chamber) emerged from the marriage.

Career and work

On November 20, 1708, Caspar Heinrich was sworn to knighthood in Münster and in 1719 appointed treasurer of the Electorate of Cologne . Ten years later he replaced his father in the office of Drosten von Cloppenburg. The revival of knighthood of the Duchy of Westphalia was in 1735. At the imperial coronation of Charles VI. in 1711 Caspar Heinrich was envoy of the Prince Diocese of Münster.
