Kaspar Heinrich von Korff called Schmising (* 1616 , † 1690 ) was officiator in Iburg and deputy of the Ravensberg knighthood.

Life

Origin and family

Kaspar Heinrich von Korff was born as the son of Heinrich von Korff called Schmising zu Tatenhausen (1583–1665, Canon in Minden) and his wife Sybilla  von Wendt zu Holtfeld  (1589–1666). His brother  Otto Heinrich  was  provost of the cathedral in Münster,  Johann Adolf Propst in St. Mauritz and  Matthias diplomat. In 1645 he married Anna Margaretha von Neuhof zu Horstmar. The daughter Sybilli Wilhelmina (∞ Rembert Jobst von Kerssenbrock zu Brinke) and the sons Friedrich Matthias , Heinrich , Dietrich Otto and Ferdinand (* 1666, Knight of the Order of Malta) emerged from the marriage.

Professional activity

Kaspar Heinrich worked as an official in Iburg and thus represented the sovereign. He headed the administrative business and also had police powers. His official seat was the Korffsche Burgmannshof, which was owned by the family from the end of the 16th century - with interruptions - until 1714. Kaspar Heinrich moved to Brandenburg and worked there as a council. He was also a deputy of the Ravensberg knighthood.
