Dietrich Otto von Korff gt. Schmising zu Tatenhausen (born August 1, 1651 , † August 27, 1727 in Münster ) was a privy councilor in the prince-bishopric of Münster .
Life
Origin and family
Dietrich Otto grew up as the son of Kaspar Heinrich von Korff called Schmising (1616–1690, Amtsdroste in Iburg) and his wife Anna Margaretha von Neuhof zu Horstmar together with his sister Sybille Wilhelmina (∞ Rembert Jobst von Kerssenbrock zu Brinke) and his brothers Friedrich Matthias (Amtsdroste in Cloppenburg), Ferdinand (* 1666, Knight of the Order of Malta) and Heinrich (Canon and Deputy of the Landespfennigkammer) in the ancient Westphalian noble family von Korff .
Career and work
After studying at the universities in Aschaffenburg , Osnabrück , Paderborn and Hildesheim , he enrolled at the Collegium Germanicum et Hungaricum et Urbe in Rome on October 28, 1668 and received a cathedral prayer in Münster in 1669 and in Hildesheim in 1674 by papal ordinance . On October 8, 1700 he became a secular court judge, Münster vice-nominee and the following year real district administrator. He was Real Privy Councilor and War Councilor and in 1722 Privy Councilor in Hildesheim. Dietrich Otto was archdeacon in Elze. He renounced in 1726 to its Münster prebends in favor of the Friedrich Christian von Furstenberg , who was regarded as a placeholder for his family.
