Friedrich Gustav Narr (born August 16, 1844 in Würzburg , † October 6, 1893 ) was a German physicist .

Life

Friedrich Narr attended grammar school in Würzburg and, after graduating from high school in 1863, studied natural sciences at the universities of Würzburg , Heidelberg , Göttingen and Munich , where he received his doctorate on July 31, 1869. phil. received his doctorate . In 1870 he received his habilitation in physics , on December 25, 1870, private lecturer and on August 2, 1886, associate professor in the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Munich. Friedrich Narr suffered from an illness that severely affected him for years and, at the age of 49, led to his retirement on May 1, 1893 due to incapacity for work.

Narr dealt with theoretical and experimental physics in his lectures . In addition, he dealt scientifically with the physics of gases and electricity .

On December 23, 1891, Friedrich Narr was admitted to the Leopoldina as a member ( matriculation no. 2924 ) .
