Friedrich Perlberg

Johann Friedrich Perlberg (born April 24, 1848 in Nuremberg , † February 14, 1921 in Munich ) was a German architecture and landscape painter .

Friedrich Perlberg was the son of the painter Georg Christian Perlberg (1806–1884). His brother was the painter Georg Christoph Perlberg (1841–1871).

From 1868 to 1875 he studied architecture and landscape painting at the Nuremberg School of Applied Arts and in Paris. His main place of work was in Munich, but he also painted in Italy and Spain, and above all in the Orient.

In 1896 he made a trip to Egypt , Nubia and Sudan . In 1898 he was part of the train of Kaiser Wilhelm II's trip to the Holy Land . His watercolors were often reproduced as postcards .

He also painted landscapes in the United States that were created on his trip through North America, for example two watercolors showing views of the Grand Canyon or the Colorado River and with English The grand Canon of the Colorado, showing amphitheater and sculptured buttes and English Water basin are designated in Gypsu Colorado .
