Friedrich Ramsler

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Friedrich Ramsler (* probably 1588 in Tübingen , † after 1621 in Urach ) was a painter from Württemberg . He was a son of the painter Anton Ramsler and a younger brother of Jacob Ramsler .

Life

Friedrich Ramsler was a son of the Tübingen painter Anton Ramsler and his wife Sibilla geb. Brentel. After training with his father, he settled in Urach, where he led a poor life. It is only known that he painted the St. Albans Church in Laichingen in 1619 . The special from Blaubeuren campaigned for the painting of this church because he wanted to compensate for the competition from the nearby Catholic, beautifully painted church in Wiesensteig . These paintings have not survived.

A son of Friedrich Anton Ramsler II (* around 1610; † shortly after 1630) was a painter. He worked for the Reutlingen painter Bartlin Wagner and sold his "annoying paintings" in Stuttgart .
