Friedrich Rapp

Friedrich Rapp (born January 31, 1932 in Groß-Zimmer ) is an emeritus professor of philosophy at the University of Dortmund . His main focus is on the philosophy of technology , the theory of progress and contemporary philosophy .

Rapp first studied physics and mathematics at the TH Darmstadt and graduated in 1959 with the state examination. He then studied philosophy in Friborg (Switzerland) and received his doctorate there in 1966 under Kurt Hübner, whose assistant he was. In 1972 he qualified as a professor in philosophy at the TU Berlin , where he was professor of philosophy until 1985. From 1985 to 1992 he was professor of philosophy at the University of Dortmund.
