Friedrich Renner

Friedrich Renner (born June 10, 1910 in Amberg ; † April 23, 1985 ibid) was a German engineer and politician . From 1956 to 1973 he was a member of the Bavarian Senate .

Life

After attending elementary and vocational school, Renner did an apprenticeship as a mechanical engineer and then started working for Deutsche Präzisionswerkzeuge AG in Amberg as a measuring tool mechanic . After attending the national folk high school in Gera - Tinz , he worked in a union and as a skilled worker. In 1934 he had to undergo a trial for preparation for high treason, he was imprisoned for two years and then interned in the Dachau concentration camp . After his release, he studied engineering in Bad Frankenhausen and then worked as a technical employee as well as operations and sales manager. In 1949 he became a managing member of the board of directors of the Amberg consumer cooperative, and six years later he was elected to the cooperative council of the Central Association of German Consumer Cooperatives in Hamburg . In 1956 he became chairman of the Association of Bavarian Consumer Cooperatives in Munich .

Renner was also politically active: in 1924 he joined the socialist youth workers , and four years later the SPD . He was a member of the council of his hometown Amberg and from 1956 to 1973 the Bavarian Senate . He received the Bavarian Order of Merit on January 13, 1964.
