Life

His father was a goldsmith in Danzig, his mother was Maria Elisabeth, née Lange. Friedrich Rudolf Dalitz learned from Andreas Hildebrandt and then went to Königsberg. Around 1749 he returned to Gdansk and worked in the workshop of his master. There he built his first own organ as a test piece in 1750 . Around 1755 he took over Hildebrandt's workshop. Friedrich Rudolf Dalitz also built Clavecins , around 1765 he was the first to build a Clavecin royale , a harpsichord with a flute register, which Joachim Wagner also built in 1774. From 1790 to 1793 Dalitz completed the organ in the monastery church in Oliva, which was the largest of its time.

The date of his death is not known, he was buried on March 1, 1804 in the churchyard of St. John in Gdansk. Christian Ephraim Ahrendt was his successor.
