Friedrich Rudolph Schäfer , self-writing mostly Schaeffer , (born November 25, 1690 in Berga / Elster , † September 3, 1748 in Halle (Saale) ) was a German civil servant and manor owner. He was a Prussian war and domain councilor as well as a tax councilor and city president (lord mayor) in the city of Halle. He was also heir, feudal lord and court lord on Lössen and Zöllschen .

Life

He was the son of Christoph Daniel Schäfer, who worked as a secretary for the government in Minden . His mother was Agnesa née von der Hoya on Bellhorst.

From 1707 Schäffer studied law at the University of Halle . After completing his studies, he became a war councilor and tax councilor in the Saalkreis as well as city president of Halle. As the latter, he was appointed directly by the Prussian king and received an annual salary of 400 thalers from the city treasury of Halle.

For 19,240 Reichstaler Friedrich Rudolph Schäffer bought the indebted manor Lössen in the Hochstift Merseburg with the associated oak wood, which he and his wife Christiana Sophia nee. Oeckel (born March 4, 1700), daughter of Hallesches Pfänner Johann Oeckel, from then on lived in. No children emerged from the joint marriage, so that the entire fortune fell to his wife in 1748, who married the divorced Electorate Chamberlain Caspar von Schönberg auf Gelenau and Thum , knight of the Order of St. Anne, around 1750 . Shortly afterwards she became mentally ill. Nevertheless, she survived her husband and only died on September 18, 1772 at the Lössen manor, where she had moved from Gelenau. She left two half-sisters as heiresses of the Lössen manor.

His body was buried on September 7, 1748 in the church in Lössen.
