Friedrich Schleinzer

Friedrich Schleinzer (born March 5, 1948 in Retzbach ) is an Austrian pastoral theologian.

Life

From 1960 to 1968 he attended the Humanistic Federal High School in Horn . From 1968 to 1969 he completed the novitiate year in the Cistercian Abbey of Lilienfeld . From 1969 to 1975 he studied philosophy and theology at the theological faculty of the University of Salzburg and from 1971 to 1976 sociology at the Institute for Sociology and Cultural Studies in Salzburg . After ordination to the priesthood on June 28, 1974 in Lilienfeld Abbey , on July 8, 1975, he completed his theology studies in the independent religious pedagogy and subject theological field of study with a master's degree. On July 1, 1976, he was appointed university assistant for pastoral theology. After promotion to the doctorate in theology on June 12, 1980, he graduated in 1980, the year of probation for obtaining the teaching certificate in secondary schools (HTL Salzburg). On September 16, 1981, he passed the teaching examination on the qualification for teaching Catholic religion in middle and high schools and at academy-related teaching establishments. Since 1982 he has been giving lectures on pastoral theology. After his habilitation on March 6, 1987 for pastoral theology at the theological faculty of the University of Salzburg, he took over a professorship there in 1987/88. Since November 1st, 1988 he has been teaching as a full professor for pastoral theology at the theological faculty of the University of Salzburg.
