Friedrich Stirnimann

Friedrich Stirnimann (born May 17, 1841 in Ettiswil ; † August 4, 1901 in Lucerne ) was a Swiss portrait, church and genre painter.

Self-portrait

Stirnimann began his artistic training in Stans as a student of Melchior Paul von Deschwanden . He then studied at the Grand Ducal Baden Art School in Karlsruhe .

Stirnimann continued his education in 1872 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and later in Paris and Basel . Then he returned home to Ettiswil.

In 1883, Stirnimann moved to Lucerne. He dealt with portrait, church and genre painting.
