Friedrich Theodor Meyer

Friedrich Theodor Meyer (born June 17, 1870 in Tangermünde ; † August 26, 1928 ) was a German manager. Meyer was general director of the Tangermünde sugar factory (founded in 1796 by Friedrich Theodor Meyer (1796–1884), called "Zucker-Meyer") and a member of the Reichsgruppe Industrie as well as a councilor and honorary citizen of the city of Tangermünde.

Meyer attended the Realgymnasium Magdeburg and then completed his one-year volunteer military service. This was followed by studies of chemistry, physics and mathematics at the University of Heidelberg and in 1895 the doctorate to Dr. phil. and a degree at the Technical University Berlin-Charlottenburg . In 1900 Meyer joined the Tangermünde sugar factory and became technical director. After serving in the war from 1914 to 1917 , he resumed this activity.

Meyer was a member of the supervisory board of Maschinenfabrik Sangerhausen AG. In addition, since 1921 he was a committee member of the Association for the Beet Sugar Industry of the German Reich , Deputy Chairman of the Magdeburg branch association of the German Sugar Industry and a member of the Elbe Waterways Advisory Board. From 1920 he was a board member of the sugar trade association, from 1927 second deputy chairman and also board member of the technical association of sugar manufacturers.

In his hometown he held numerous offices. Meyer served as a member of the city council college from 1919 and was city ​​councilor and city ​​elder in Tangermünde. As a member of the district council of the Stendal district , he held numerous honorary posts. From 1926 he was Dr. Ing. Eh from the Technical University Berlin-Charlottenburg.

He was also the first chairman of the Tangermünde Museum Association.
