Friedrich Walz (pastor)
Friedrich Walz (born October 16, 1932 in Schillingsfürst ; died September 27, 1984 there ) was a German Protestant pastor and hymn poet .
Life
In 1959 Walz was vicar in Traunstein with a focus on religious instruction and from 1963 pastor and member of the youth service team in Nuremberg. From 1973 he was a student pastor in Erlangen, and later radio and television commissioner in Munich. He was musically trained and the founder and leader of various choirs. In 1983 he was diagnosed with a brain tumor from which he died shortly before the age of 52 the following year.
Songs
Friedrich Walz composed a number of songs and translated them from foreign languages. The following were included in the Evangelical Hymnal :

- Come on, tell everyone about it (EG 225)
- Hear who Jesus praises happy (EG Rheinland-Westfalen-Lippe and Reformed)
- Come on, we'll share the bread at the Lord's table (EG Bayern-Thüringen and Austria)
- Sing now everyone, sing with us (EG Bayern-Thüringen)

- The whole world was happy. A Christmas book with 24 songs from all over the world . Erlangen 1980, ISBN 3-87214-115-5 (international Christmas melodies with German texts by Friedrich Walz).
- Life is the way. Thoughts for time and eternity . Posthumously published by Helmut Winter, Munich 1985, several new editions, ISBN 3-532-62038-3 .
