Student pastor

Student pastors , also known as university pastors , are pastors of the Evangelical and Catholic Churches with a special pastoral care assignment for students and employees of universities and colleges .

As a rule, they serve in the Protestant Student Community (ESG) or in the Catholic University Community (KHG) , which are responsible for a program of church work specially tailored to students and other university members.

Sometimes the student pastors are also involved in the scientific ethical discourse at their university or college.

Many of the important leaders of the churches and some theology professors initially worked as student pastors. Examples here are:
