Wolf Krötke

Wolf Krötke (born October 5, 1938 in Berlinchen / Neumark ) is a German Protestant theologian.

Live and act

After graduating from the Philanthropinum Dessau , Krötke began studying theology at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig in 1957 . In 1958/59 he was a political prisoner in the penal institution in Waldheim / Saxony for "incitement and propaganda dangerous to the state and the production and distribution of inflammatory pamphlets". He then continued his studies at the Catechetical College in Naumburg (Saale) and at the Sprachenkonvikt Berlin . In 1967 he received his doctorate on Karl Barth's doctrine of nothingness and sin. In 1967 he was parish priest in Görschen / Krs. Naumburg (Saale). From 1970 Wolf Krötke was a student pastor in Halle (Saale) in the Jenastift in Rathausstrasse and from 1973 lecturer at the church teaching post at the Sprachenkonvikt in Berlin . In 1976 he received an honorary doctorate from the University of Tübingen . In 1990 he was awarded the Karl Barth Prize of the Evangelical Church of the Union . From 1991 until his retirement in 2004, Wolf Krötke taught as a professor for systematic theology at the theological faculty of the Humboldt University in Berlin . He has received numerous honors for his scientific achievements.
