Friedrich Weltz

Friedrich Oskar Weltz (born July 13, 1927 in Munich ) is a German social scientist .

Life

Friedrich Weltz studied English and German at the in Munich and London. In 1953 the doctorate followed. From 1954 to 1958 Weltz was research assistant at the Institute for Social Research in Frankfurt and from 1958 to 1970 he worked as an independent industrial sociological consultant. From 1971 to 1974 he was research director at the Institute for Social Science Research (ISF) in Munich. From 1975 to 1992 Weltz was head of the Social Science Project Group (SPG), Munich.

In 1985 he was awarded an honorary professorship by the University of Göttingen. He had lectureships at the University of Göttingen, the University of the Federal Armed Forces and the Technical University of Munich. In 1992/93 he was a visiting scholar at the Institute for European Studies at Harvard University with a research grant from the SEL Foundation.
