Friedrich Wilhelm von Klinckowström (born December 8, 1686 in Pomerania , † November 16, 1750 in Stade ) was a general from Hanover .

Life

Klinckowström originally came from Pomerania. His father was Martin von Klinckowström , who had been raised to the Swedish nobility . He was first the page of Duke Friedrich IV of Holstein . After the New Genealogical-Historical News , Friedrich Wilhelm von Klinckowström began his military career in French service. He served in the Royal Suédois Foreign Regiment . He entered the Electorate of Hanover as a major and was then promoted to colonel major. On April 16, 1734, King George II made him head of a regiment on foot. According to the numbering of Georg Tessin it is the regiment Infantry Regiment No. 1-A . Klinckowström was promoted to Brigadier in February 1742, Major General on July 26, 1743 and finally Lieutenant General on August 24, 1747. He took part in the campaigns in Germany and the Netherlands in the War of the Austrian Succession .

Klinckowström was most recently in command of the Stade Fortress , which is why his portrait has been preserved in the old town hall of Stade. He owned the Brocklosenborstel estate , also called Medenhof , near Stade .

Klinckowström was married twice. His first wife was his cousin Johanna Maria Cecilia von Klinckowström, a daughter of his uncle Lieutenant General Balthasar von Klinckowström. In 1736 he married again. His second wife, Margaretha Ehrengart von Klinckowström (1702–1765), was born von der Schulenburg. His descendants include:
