Friedrich Wilhelm dispute

Christoph Friedrich Wilhelm Streit (born January 29, 1772 ; † June 12, 1839 in Berlin ) was a Prussian officer , cartographer and author of several mathematics books.

Life

Streit was an engineer and mathematician in the Prussian artillery . He had a doctorate and was a Prussian major a. D. and member of the Academie of Useful Sciences in Erfurt and the Society for Geography in Berlin. From 1807 to 1817 he was director of the map department of the Geographical Institute in Weimar .

The topographical-military chart of Germany was created under his leadership .

family

From his marriage to Amalie Voigt (1787–1838), the future Prussian Lieutenant General Guido Alexander von Streit (1813–1904) emerged, who married Marie von Faber (1817–1887).
