Friedrich Wilhelm d'Elpons

Friedrich Wilhelm d'Elpons (* around 1785 in Silesia ; † June 1, 1831 in Frankenstein ) was a French-born Prussian major and writer .

FW d'Elpons was one of the sons of the French officer Johann Peter von Delpons , who had been in the Prussian service since 1761 . He married the actress Henriette Benda in 1810.

Career

Like his father and his two brothers pursued him an officer's career , was in the womb Infantry Regiment in Frankfurt / Oder and finally in 1819 as Major 's farewell taken.

Some of his comedies were performed in the 1810s. In 1819 he left the army and lived in Berlin, where he was a member of ETA Hoffmann's circle of friends . He was also a member of the staff of the magazine The Spectator (published 1821-1823).
