Friedrich Wilhelm von der Marwitz

Friedrich Wilhelm von der Marwitz (* 1639 on Gut Lüssow; † July 10, 1716 in Driesen ) was a Prussian major general and commander of the Oderberg Fortress .

He was the son of the Brandenburg colonel Johann Georg von der Marwitz heir to Dölzig , Lüssow and Bischofssee and his wife Anna Maria von Redern.

Life

First he served in the troops of Elector Friedrich Wilhelm . In 1679 he became a lieutenant colonel, in 1691 a colonel and a few years later a brigadier. On January 3, 1705, he was appointed major general. From 1698 he was in command of Oderberg.

He was married to Hedwig Sophia von Ostriches. The couple had three daughters and one son:
