Friedrich von Fabrice

Friedrich von Fabrice (born May 9, 1836 in Nuremberg , † June 9, 1897 in Munich ) was a Bavarian major general and military historian .

Life

Fabrice was appointed second lieutenant in the 7th Infantry Regiment of the Bavarian Army on December 1, 1858 . With this he took part in the German War in 1866 , and in 1870/71 as a regimental adjutant in the war against France . Most recently he was in command of the 5th Infantry Brigade in Regensburg as major general until his departure on May 14, 1893 .

Fabrice had already confirmed himself as a writer during his active service and published articles on Bavarian and Electoral Palatinate military history. The focus of his work was the history of the 6th Infantry Regiment "Kaiser Wilhelm, King of Prussia" , to which he had belonged as a staff officer . In addition, after his departure he was busy with preparatory work for the Bavarian army history in the war archive .
