Friedrich von Seidel (born March 28, 1554 in Berlin , † June 14, 1599 in Treuenbrietzen ) was a German mayor.

Life

Friedrich von Seidel was the second son of Erasmus von Seidel (1521–1562) and his wife Ursula Kreideweiß from Swabia . He was brought up by his guardian, Chancellor Distelmeyer , and became a councilor and secretary for Brandenburg . He married Dorothea Thamm, with whom he moved to Treuenbrietzen. Here he was elected mayor in 1591. Seidel died of the "main epidemic" at the age of 45. His wife died three days later.

The youngest of his six sons was the lawyer and statesman Erasmus Seidel .
