Frithjof Kühn (* 16th October 1943 in Fuerstenfeldbruck ) is a German politician of the CDU . From 1999 to 2014 he was the full-time district administrator of the North Rhine-Westphalian Rhein-Sieg district .

Life

After the war, Frithjof Kühn came to the Rhineland, graduated from high school in Düsseldorf in 1964, did military service and then studied law. After studying law in Cologne and Munich , among others , he became a research associate for the Federal Council .

Frithjof Kühn had been with the Rhein-Sieg district since 1981. In 1985 he became department head for environmental protection and public order. In 1991 he also became head of the finance department. In 1994 he was elected regional director . This office was dissolved in 1999 and replaced by the office of a full-time district administrator directly elected by the citizens. In the first election as full-time district administrator in September 1999, Frithjof Kühn was elected with 60.6% of the vote. In 2004 he was confirmed in his office with 55.4% and in the last election on August 30, 2009 with 52.7% of the vote for another five years, his opponent Achim Tüttenberg (SPD) received 28.3% of the vote.

As a full-time district administrator, Kühn also ran the district police authority , as is regulated in North Rhine-Westphalia through organ lending .

At a press conference on October 10, 2013, Frithjof Kühn announced his early resignation from the office of district administrator. He received his certificate of discharge on June 6, 2014, and his term of office ended on June 22. Sebastian Schuster is his successor .

Kühn is a member of the Corps Rhenania Bonn and the Corps Alemannia Vienna zu Linz . From 2009 to 2014 he was chairman of the Rhenish Association for Monument Preservation and Landscape Protection . Kühn has been a shareholder representative on the RWE AG Supervisory Board since January 2010 .

He lives in the Sankt Augustinian district of Hangelar .
