Frits Thors
Alexander Frederik Paul "Frits" Thors (born September 13, 1909 in Amsterdam , † April 19, 2014 in Laren ) was a Dutch news anchor.
Life
Thors began his career in 1928 with Algemene Vereniging Radio Omroep (AVRO). From 1965 to 1969 he was the spokesman for the news program of the Nederlandse Televisie Stichting (NTS) and then until 1972 of the NOS-Journal . He also worked for the BBC . One of the highlights of his journalistic career was Thors reporting on the return of the Dutch royal family to Princess Juliana from exile in Canada after the end of World War II .
