Fritz Brukner

Fritz Brukner (born August 3, 1881 in Vienna ; † July 4, 1944 there ) was an Austrian theater scholar , literary scholar and collector.

Brukner came from a wealthy Jewish industrial family. After his Jus -Studies he conducted research primarily in the area of the Vienna theater history. His important Viennensia and theater collection was incorporated into the ÖNB by the National Socialists at the instigation of Joseph Gregor , but his heirs were restituted after the Second World War.
