Fritz Endell

Fritz August Gottfried Endell (born November 12, 1873 in Stettin ; † February 8, 1955 in Bayrischzell , Miesbach district ) was a German painter and graphic artist.

Endell originally studied theology. Under the influence of his brother, the architect August Endell , he turned to the artistic profession in Munich. Around 1900, on the occasion of a stay in Paris, he entered the Académie Julian . Endell was a student of Colarossi . Under the technical guidance of Quesnel, he specialized in woodcut. Suggestions from Félix Vallotton , Jean-Baptiste Lepère and Paul Colin . 1902 moved to Stuttgart. Worked for Max Weber and master student of Leopold Graf von Kalckreuth and Adolf Hölzel . 1914-20 stay in America, drawing teacher at the Duncan School. Occupation with antique vase painting and mirror engravings as well as with the art of the North American Indians.
