Fritz Gautier

Fritz Gautier (born January 17, 1950 in Norden , East Friesland , † August 10, 2017 in Cologne ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

After graduating from high school in Emden in 1968 , Gautier studied chemistry at the Technical University of Braunschweig . He obtained the title of Diplom-Chemist, received his doctorate in 1977 and was then a research assistant at the Society for Biotechnological Research in Braunschweig . Gautier is a member of the chemical-paper-ceramic union and has been a member of the board of directors of Ruhrgas AG since 2001 . He was deputy general manager of the Association of Municipal Companies , member of the board of the Cologne gas, electricity and waterworks, vice-president of the Association of German Electricity Works as well as member of the presidium of the research center for the energy industry of the society for practical energy science and president of the European umbrella association of public municipal energy supply companies, European Federation of Local Energy Companies (CEDEC).

In his youth Gautier belonged to the SJD " Die Falken ". In 1973 he became a member of the SPD, where he was temporarily active in the Braunschweig district executive and in the Lower Saxony state executive. From 1980 to 1987 member of the European Parliament , then until 1994 of the German Bundestag . From 1989 to 2000 Gautier was an alderman for the city of Cologne .

Gautier was buried at sea .
