Fritz Huth

Fritz Huth (born June 25, 1908 , † June 16, 1980 in Würzburg ) was a German horn player and horn teacher.

Life

Huth was initially the principal horn of the Staatskapelle Dresden . From 1949 to 1958 he played in the same position at the Hamburg State Opera and was also a member of the orchestra of the Bayreuth Festival for 35 years . Fritz Huth has taken part in ten major solo competitions and won all of them.

In addition to his orchestral work, Huth was also a professor of horn, first at the Detmold Music Academy and then for 36 years at the Würzburg University of Music . His students include Hermann Baumann , Wilfried Krüger , Hans Pizka , Rolf-Jürgen Eisermann, Peter Hoefs, and Herbert Höhn.

Huth's school for horn is the basis for the training of horn players worldwide.
