Fritz Klabinus

Fritz Klabinus (* unknown; † November 18, 1945 in Graz ) was an Austrian art historian .

Fritz Klabinus studied art history at the University of Graz under Hermann Egger (1874–1949) and received his doctorate in 1934 with a thesis on the painter Joseph Tunner . He then worked at the Steiermärkische Sparkasse in Graz, where he was promoted to director.

After the head of the Graz City Museum, Robert Meeraus, was drafted into military service in 1940, Fritz Klabinus took over the management of the museum on October 21, 1941. At the end of the war in 1944, he moved the museum's collection to Freiburg Castle. In April 1944, the Thalerhof air base command moved into the museum.
