Fritz Klein (sports official)

Fritz Klein (born December 6, 1909 in Arnsberg ; † February 2, 1996 ) was a German lawyer and sports official .

Life

After completing his law degree, Klein was initially a judge at various local and regional courts. Since 1947 he was employed in the ministerial service of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Because of a foot injury, Klein was never able to play football in the club. Nevertheless, he became a member of SV Arnsberg 09 in the mid-1930s . His activity in the West German Football Association began in the local court of rulings, later he took over the chairmanship of the local association court.

On July 12, 1969, the delegates of the Association Day elected Fritz Klein as the successor to the late Konrad Schmedeshagen as their chairman. He held this office until 1981, after which he was made honorary chairman.

Fritz Klein died on February 2, 1996 after a long illness.
