Fritz Kopperschmidt (born December 22, 1939 in Hamburg ; † February 16, 2011 ) was a German regatta sailor .

biography

Fritz Kopperschmidt competed in the 1964 Olympic Games together with Herbert Reich and Eckart Wagner in the 5.5 mR class . The crew took fifth place with the boat Subbnboana in Fujisawa . However, after the third regatta, Kopperschmidt was replaced by Uwe Mares due to illness . In 1966 and 1967, Kopperschmidt started together with Wagner at the world championships with the star boat . Both times they reached the top ten, but could not get a medal. Kopperschmidt and Wagner also took part in the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City . At the regatta in Acapulco , the duo took twelfth place.
