Fritz Kreißel

Fritz Kreißel (born November 24, 1913 ; † unknown) was a German football player and coach .

Fritz Kreißel played as the right runner at 1. FC Nürnberg in a phase of transition. After winning the last German championship in 1927 , numerous regular players from the 1920s, in which the club became German champions five times, ended their careers. Kreißel was one of the candidates for the traditionally weaker position of the right wing runner, where he ousted Wilhelm Weickmann . With him, the club made it into a final for the German championship for the first time in seven years. In the 1934 final against FC Schalke 04 , Kreißel was part of the team and saw how the club lost a 1-0 lead within the last three minutes.

In the following season, Hans Uebelein , in whose shadow Kreißel was henceforth, became a regular player on the right runner position. Therefore, Kreißel was not there for the next title win, the cup victory in 1935 . For the sixth German championship in 1936 , Kreißel contributed at least one use in the group stage of the final round.

Until 1939 Kreißel stayed with the club as a supplementary player. Because of a meniscus injury, he finally ended his playing career for the club after 108 missions, including 17 in finals for the German championship.

After 1945, Kreißel worked as a trainer at the Bavarian State Sports Association in the promotion of young talent and at 1. FC Nürnberg in the youth field, where he formed, among others, Ferdinand Wenauer and Günter Dämpfling into professional players.
