Fritz Mielentz
Fritz Mielentz (born June 10, 1892 in Königsberg ; † April 20, 1945 ) was a German classical philologist and high school teacher .
After graduating from the Friedrichs Kollegium in Königsberg in 1910, he studied at the University of Königsberg from 1910 to 1915 , interrupted by a semester in Munich in 1913. Since 1916 he took part in the First World War as a non-commissioned officer , received the Iron Cross 2nd class and ended Released from English captivity in 1919.
In 1923 he received his doctorate at the University of Königsberg with a thesis on the history of the artes liberales . Since 1922 he was active in the Prussian school service, first in Königsberg, since 1939 as director of the grammar school in Friedland (East Prussia) .
In addition to his work in the school service, he wrote several articles for Paulys Realencyclopädie der classical antiquity . He died as a member of the Volkssturm in April 1945.
