Fritz odemar senior , actually Karl Friedrich Julius Odemar (* 11. October 1858 in Magdeburg , † 9. December 1926 in Frankfurt am Main , German Empire ) was a German theater actor and playwright .

Live and act

The merchant's son was initially supposed to take up his father's profession, but after a few inter-family struggles he prevailed and began working as an actor when he joined a small touring and touring stage in 1880. Odemar's early theater positions were in Rudolstadt, Mainz, Hamburg, Breslau and Bremen before he finally came to the Hoftheater Hannover. There his gradual rise to a sought-after character comedian began, which he continued and consolidated at venues in Cologne and finally Frankfurt am Main, where he succeeded at the theater there and was nicknamed "Papa Ode".
