Fritz Schlotterbeck
Fritz Schlotterbeck (* 1876 ; † 1940 ) was a German chemist.
Schlotterbeck received his doctorate in chemistry in Tübingen in 1902 (dissertation: On the aniline-azo-acetylacetone and its derivatives. A contribution to the knowledge of "mixed azo compounds" ). In 1903/04 he was in Berlin with Emil Fischer , with whom he published on the conversion of sorbic acid into an amino acid . From 1903 to 1915 he was a private lecturer in Würzburg. From 1915 to 1935 he headed the Stockhausen chemical factory in Krefeld . From 1935 to 1940 he worked at the Tharandt Forest School (Institute for Plant Chemistry).
He is one of those after whom the Büchner-Curtius-Schlotterbeck reaction is named, which he dealt with in 1907.
