Fritz stop

Ernst Fritz Stopp (born April 9, 1886 in Chemnitz , †  September 16, 1975 in Radebeul ) was a German teacher and botanist .

Life

The stop trained at the teachers' seminar in Annaberg from 1900 to 1906 worked as a teacher in Rabenau , Rotterdam , Frankenberg / Sa until 1909 . and from 1915 to 1945 in Kötzschenbroda , now part of Radebeul .

In 1946, at the request of the Saxon Heritage Protection Association , Stopp took over the management of the overgrown botanical garden in Schellerhau for the next 20 years in order to rebuild and expand it. In addition, the botanist Stopp temporarily looked after the medicinal plant garden of the Dresden German Hygiene Museum .

The conservationist stop mapped the flora of the region around Radebeul from 1916 until the end of his life. During this time he published numerous books, technical essays and articles, including as co-author of the new edition of the standard work Die Pflanzen Sachsens from 1956.

Stopp was buried in the Radebeul-West cemetery.
